BuoyData is designed with your privacy in mind. The app collects minimal data and does not track you in any way.
BuoyData does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.
The only data stored by the app is your preferred NOAA buoy station ID, which is saved locally on your device. This data never leaves your device and is not sent to any server.
The app connects to a backend API to retrieve publicly available ocean buoy data from NOAA’s National Data Buoy Center. These requests contain only the buoy station ID you selected — no personal information, device identifiers, or analytics data are transmitted.
BuoyData does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
BuoyData does not knowingly collect any information from children.
